Welcome to Kina Cliffs Vineyard
Kina Cliffs is an 8 acre family owned boutique vineyard that overlooks Tasman Bay and is near the towering cliffs of the Kina Peninsula, 30 minutes drive from Nelson. These sea-washed cliffs expose the ancient Moutere clay gravels that also lie beneath the vineyard and are known locally to produce a full-bodied, robust grape flavour. This soil, the breezy coastal climate, the high sunshine hours, the hand-tended low yield vines and the expertise of dedicated local winemakers are all engaged to produce exceptional wines.
Kina Cliffs is an accredited Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand vineyard and produces Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.
The 2012 Pinot Noirs and Pinot Gris are coming along excellently. 2012 is a cracker Nelson vintage, low yields but awesome flavours.
All of our wines can be found in the online shop here, and at our cellar door here.

Concentrated wine with an appealing musk-like character that adds complexity to more conventional gooseberry and green capsicum. Great balance with soft, fruity acidity and a lengthy finish. - Bob Campbell MW, BobsWineReviews.com. |

4.5 Stars and 91/100. A rising star in Nelson, grapes for this stylish pinot were grown on their single vineyard in the Kina Peninsula. The bouquet shows complex aromas of red/black cherry, savoury mushroom, game and subtle spicy oak. It's succulent and silky on the palate with a refreshing mouthfeel and a lengthy crisp finish. The wine shows lovely depth of flavour well supported by the bright acidity.Sam Kim, www.wineorbit.co.nz. |
