Reserve Pinot Noir
2016
Single Vineyard | French Oak Aged
NZ$45.00

Sourced entirely from single cane, single bunch per shoot vines, the fruit for our Reserve Pinot Noir is hand harvested, then destemmed and the juice fermented on skins for 4 days, with daily plunging to extract tannins and flavour. The juice is 100% matured in French Oak for 10 months, during which time it undergoes secondary malolactic fermentation that further enhances flavour and texture.

The grape yield is kept very low (2t/Ha) in our reserve rows to produce a wine with great flavour concentration and the ability to age well. Only the best 2 or 3 barrels of Reserve Pinot Noir are selected for this label. Production is limited to 100 cases.

Tasting Notes

This wine has fragrant notes of blueberry and strawberry, with a hint of violets. The sweet berry fruit, dark cherry and toasted oak flavours combine with rich velvety tannins that expand and linger on the palate, creating an elegant and full-bodied wine.

Perfect with pan-fried eye fillet, venison ragout, mushroom risotto or chocolate desserts. Enjoy now or up to 10 years after vintage date.
